Sirius is a Dti registered Enterprise Agency set up by BP as one means of providing continuing their support to the local economy and communities around its manufacturing base near the city of Hull.

Its existing and key target market are those individuals wanting to start-up micro businesses in the travel-to-work area around BP Chemicals Hull site.

The office is located in the small town of Hedon, east of the city of Hull and its geographic area of operation covers the district of Holderness in the East Riding of Yorkshire and the City of Hull.

It is a community based project aiming to assist those individuals currently at a disadvantage through lack of clear advice and guidance on business planning, basic business management skills and access to affordable finance. The type of business support offered ranges from advice on office rentals and busines s administration to guidance on imports, tax, marketing and cash flow management.

Sirius also signposts applicants on to other potential sources of funding and has excellent working relationships with local banks.
