Operating a Food Business during the Covid-19 Pandemic - Advice Signposting Service
Dear Food Business Operator,
The Covid-19 pandemic has drastically changed the way food businesses must operate to keep everyone safe. With the upcoming easing of national restrictions, we hope to see many hospitality sector food businesses soon serving customers outside their premises and before long inside also. As a result, it is important to act now to ensure that the necessary precautions are in place to protect your customers and Workers as the government’s ‘Roadmap out of lockdown’ is implemented .
Food manufacturers, retailers and caterers currently providing takeaway/delivery services are also likely to need to make further adaptations as a post Covid-19 ‘normal’ emerges.
To help all food businesses through this process the Food Services team has developed an advice signposting service to direct users to information and guidance relevant to their business and to help ensure all relevant matters are considered.
This document is being maintained and updated on our Food Services webpages and can be accessed here: https://www.eastriding.gov.uk/EasySiteWeb/GatewayLink.aspx?alId=800951
The document can also be downloaded from our webpages here https://www.eastriding.gov.uk/business/food-services/ , in addition to a wealth of other food business guidance.

We are here to help you through this process where we can, while our primary focus remains on protecting consumers from both foodborne health risks and of course Covid-19. This advice signposting document is one part of that overall effort.
We wish our East Riding food businesses well in navigating the government’s Roadmap, and in keeping staff and customers safe in the process.
Kind regards
Food Services
