East Riding Of Yorkshire are pleased to provide their latest Covid-19 business support update.
Covid-19 support schemes end 30 September 2021
A reminder that a range of government support schemes introduced to help businesses and individuals through the pandemic have now come to an end. The schemes include the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, the Self-employment Income Support Scheme, the Coronavirus Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme and the reduced VAT rates for hospitality.

New allergen labelling law comes into force (Natasha’s Law)
From 1 October 2021, the requirements for prepacked for direct sale (PPDS) food labelling will change in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The new labelling will help protect your consumers by providing potentially life-saving allergen information on the packaging. Any business that produces PPDS food will be required to label it with the name of the food and a full ingredients list, with allergenic ingredients emphasised within the list.

Businesses encouraged to consult on council communication
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is currently undertaking a consultation to understand how East Riding customers, residents and businesses contact it and how easy they have found it to do so. The consultation runs until Friday, 15 October 2021 and will provide customers the opportunity to outline their needs and experiences in contacting the council, whether this has been face-to-face, by telephone or online.
