Business Updates
ICT and Connectivity Grants available for local start-up businesses
#GrowMySME has relaunched its popular New Business Start-Up Grant and the all new Start-Up Connectivity Grant. Businesses in the East Riding, Hull, North and North East Lincs area, who have been registered for less than 12 months, could be eligible.
The Start-Up grant offers a £1,000 grant to cover 40% to 50% of eligible project costs. The Connectivity Grant, supports new businesses to get connected to superfast broadband and can fund 100% of costs between £500 to £1,000.

Government publishes SME Finance Charter
This voluntary agreement signed off by the Business Finance Council, a collaboration between finance providers, business organisations and the government. The Charter consists of 5 commitments that provide a framework for finance providers to set out their specific undertaking to SMEs. Find out what the pledges mean for business:

Government makes it easier for businesses to use temporary staff
The government has introduced a new law that will allow businesses to supply skilled agency workers during industrial action:

Networking Business Breakfast Summer event
There are still some spaces available on the next Networking Business Breakfast. Fuelled by coffee, croissants and chats, or fancy bacon butties with some banter, this informal event gives you a chance to network and make new connections.

Humber Women’s Network July Meeting
