Last Thursday, East Riding of Yorkshire council welcomed over 60 people to the ergo Business Centre in Hessle for the Networking Business Breakfast Summer event. Delivered collaboratively between ourselves and the University of Hull, for the benefit of local businesses.
We were really pleased that so many people came to join us for some quality networking. Thank you to everyone who attended.

DIT Internationalisation Fund
Do you supply goods or services overseas? Is your website or social media suitable for targeting an overseas market? Does your product or service meet the regulations or standards required for your intended market?
Then the Department of International Trade (DIT) have a grant opportunity for match-funded grants of between £1,000 and £9,000. Areas of support include market research, IP advice, international social media, independent market visits or international commercial services.

Tax cut sees the level at which people start paying National Insurance rise
From 6 July, the level at which people start paying National Insurance has risen from £9,880 to £12,570. Benefiting around 30 million people across the UK, this change could see tax savings of up to £330: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/tax-cut-worth-up-to-330-comes-in-for-30-million-workers
Single Customs Platform accepting declarations
As reported on our email on the 13 June, HMRC is replacing the existing Customers Handling of Import and Export Freight (CHIEF) system. From 10am on 5 July, new importers have been able to register with the Customs Declaration Service to make their import declarations.
