Our overview this week includes extensions to support measures originally put in place to ease the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on small businesses. Wellbeing in the workplace
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has launched its Working Well website for employers and employees on improving wellbeing in the workplace and how this can link to increasing productivity and workforce retention. Check out the large range of services and products available to you including information, toolkits, online learning and much more.

Recovery Loan Scheme extended
The government has announced that the Recovery Loan Scheme is to be extended allowing small businesses to apply for government-backed loans for a further two years. The scheme was originally launched in April 2021 to help businesses recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic and so far, has helped over 19,000 businesses.

Alcohol off sales easement extended
The alcohol off-sales easement, introduced during the pandemic, was due to lapse on 30 September 2022, but has now been extended to September 2023. The easement allows businesses to sell alcohol as part of takeaway services, deliveries, and in outdoor seating areas.

Long Covid support, Covid-19 booster and flu jabs
The government announced last week that the over 50’s and those individuals in a clinical risk group, will be offered a Covid-19 booster and flu jab this autumn. Flu jabs will also be extended to over-50’s and secondary school age children.
