Topic Of The Week
Thinking of hiring but don’t know where to start?
Many businesses especially in the early days know they need more support with workload, but don’t know where to start.
One of most common question asked is “how do I find candidates”? This isn’t always the right question to ask, as sometimes with a little innovation, the answer could be right on your doorstep!
Before you commit your budget and time to advertising, take some time to consider:
Is the role a real and full-time job? Could it be part of someone else’s role?
Do you have the necessary knowledge and experience to manage this job role? If not would it be better to outsource this work and concentrate your employees on what you excel at? Can you promote from within?
Have you asked friends, family, and colleagues for recommendations? Good people know good people!
Have you considered training someone who has the right fit for the team but needs a bit more knowledge?
What about someone part-time? Or someone that works remotely? Lots of potential employees are looking for this type of work especially post pandemic.
If you already have someone in your organisation doing the job well, and you need another person in a similar space, look at their background and work out how you can get in touch with more potential employees just like them.
