It’s not too late…
To check your details are correct on the visiteastyorkshire.co.uk website. As the world begins to reopen again, we all want to make sure we have everything in order and are in the best shape to welcome back our visitors. One thing that can often slip our minds is checking all details are up to date in every place a business is featured, including your Google Business entry (we hope you’ll all soon be able to change your entries to open). We urge you to please take a few minutes to check your entry on the visiteastyorkshire.co.uk site and any other site you may be listed.
Those that have sent us new images and have updated any changes, thank you! We really appreciate your cooperation.
Say Cheese!
Please check we have up to date high resolution images of your business (size should be at least 1220 x 713 pixels), and while you’re there you may as well check the wording we have for you and prices are correct, and the correct social media accounts are linked.
A few hints
- Landscape images fit best!
- We can crop your images for you to the right size, so as long as it’s bigger than 1220x713 pixels we can sort the rest.
- If the image was taken professionally and you still have the original size this will definitely be high resolution
- Images taken on a tablet or smartphone are usually high resolution enough for the website.
How do I know if it’s big enough?
If pixels, dimensions and files sizes are a little bit mind boggling and make you want to log out of your emails, turn off your laptop and hide … we totally understand. Here’s some quick and easy steps to check the size of the images you want to send to us. If that’s not for you, send us the images anyway and we can check they are the right size to use.
Oh no this file’s too big!?
If your images are too big to send via email, using a file sharing site like we transfer can be really helpful. It’s easy to use and doesn’t require a sign up or any need to create an account. Not sure how to use it? Check out this handy tutorial.
Send them in…
One of the quickest ways to get new photos to us, is to take them on your phone and email them to us from there. Most cameras on mobile devices now produce excellent high quality images that can be used for promotion. One thing to remember is to make sure the image is sent at the original size. Here’s some tips on taking good pictures with a phone, and here’s how to send it to us using your phone.
Email any changes you’d like to make and images to info@visiteastyorkshire.co.uk. Alternatively we can set up an extranet login for you to use to amend your entry whenever you need to.
But why should I send new images?
Why should you take the time and effort when you’re already really busy to update images of your business? Well as cliché as the saying – a picture paints a thousand words – it does sums up the answer pretty nicely! In a list of available businesses, a great photo could be the difference between a visitor clicking through and planning to visit or scrolling by. Photos are also the quickest and easiest way to show off your fantastic business.
