Event: Yorkshire & Humber Virtual Networking

Event Type: Webinar

Description:
Event details
The event will be hosted by one of our team of membership advisors and the topic of conversation is always open to discussion! Support and advice is on hand, as is the opportunity to share your experience and expertise with other small business owners locally. We look forward to welcoming you.

Our session this time will be an ‘Export Special’ and we are excited to welcome two speakers this time. They are Andrew Finch from the Hull and East Yorkshire (HEY) LEP and also Stirling Austin from Pixel Executive, multi-language website design.

Andrew will present an overview of current regional export support services, including how companies can access grants from the Internationalisation Fund to support activities such as website internationalisation. Working on secondment from the Department for International Trade, Andrew is developing an export plan for the Hull and East Yorkshire region, which will look to position HEY LEP as a key export convener, whilst encouraging SMEs across the region to engage in global exporting opportunities.

A linguist by trade, Andrew brings an international background and outlook to the role, having spent nearly 20 years travelling the globe exporting UK educational products and services, with roles undertaken in both the public and private education and training sectors.

Stirling will follow with his presentation on ‘Internationalising your website for overseas markets’. Websites are now integral to any marketing strategy and a key tool for business development. When looking to expand internationally or increase export revenue, a well-constructed and internationalised site is fundamental for developing your business and brand. When looking to internationalise your company’s website, where do you start, how do you go multi-language and how do you maximise your return on investment?

Stirling Austin, of Pixel Executive, spent a significant part of his career creating and developing bricks and mortar businesses across Europe and now runs Pixel Executive, a Digital Agency specialising in multi-language web design. He will share his perspective on the key steps on optimising your website for growing business in overseas markets.

We will also give a brief FSB local update and you will also have ample time to network in a relaxed atmosphere with other attendees and also in smaller groups in breakout rooms.
