Price: £0.00
Date: Thursday 28th Apr 2022
Time: 10:00 - 10:45
Join this online session to hear what sustainability actually means to small businesses, and some of the challenges businesses might face in trying to adopt sustainable measures.
From attending this event you will learn practical advice on what small businesses can do right away to have a more positive impact on the environment.

Led by Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation, the panel includes small business owners alongside the following sustainability experts:
- Catherine Westoby, Net Zero Business Engagement Lead for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS)
- Fiona Hyde, Head of Sustainability, TSB Bank
- Gavin Lendon, founder of Sustainology UK Ltd
This event is part of the Enterprise Nation Plan it with Purpose campaign, a programme designed to help owners of small and medium-sized businesses develop a better understanding of environmental and social issues in the UK.

Concerns over climate change have grown significantly. The UK government has pledged to cut the nation’s carbon emissions and reach net zero by 2050.

According to research, small and medium-sized businesses are responsible for a third of the UK’s emissions. Despite this, many are yet to take action to address their effect on the environment. This is where Plan it with Purpose comes in – providing the support businesses need to make a difference.

Since 1 January 2022, businesses moving goods between the UK and EU need to make additional customs declarations. You must comply with the new rules for imports from the EU to Great Britain (GB) to avoid delays and prevent additional charges being incurred.

In this webinar Deloitte Global Trade Advisers Caroline Barraclough and Sam Kiely will guide you through the changes that came into effect from 1 Jan 2022 and explain what to expect when additional custom checks come into effect later this year, on 1 July.

To help you navigate through this phase of new rules for doing business with the EU, Caroline and Sam will also help you to understand customs declarations and introduce you to new customs declaration software that you can explore.

Find out more about what the changes mean for your business now, what to do next and where to find further information to keep your business moving.
